sixth grade

Dear Parents,
For the past year I have worked at Holy Family Grade School as the 7th and 8th grade English teacher and this year I am delighted to say that I will be your child’s 6th grade homeroom teacher. As an incoming 6th grader, your child is embarking on a journey to the upper grades and, in turn, will be expected to deliver a great amount of responsibility. In order to ensure a comfortable transition, I will be sure to create an educational environment that caters to each individual child, as well as the classroom as a whole.
As your child’s 6th grade teacher, I plan on creating a classroom community that is filled with responsibility, organization, and most important of all, respect. In regards to responsibility, your child will not only be responsible for their work, but for their actions as well. In terms of organization, your child will be expected to be organized at all times. After all, organization leads to success and the success of your child is my ultimate goal. Lastly, your child will be expected to show respect at all times. Greeting each other daily, using their manners, and showing consideration for others are crucial acts that help maintain a healthy classroom community. In addition, your child will be expected to greet each teacher as they see them, as well as thank each teacher after every class. These actions have been a great tradition at Holy Family and I hope to keep this tradition alive.
In order to guarantee a positive and effective school year, I believe that you are I are a team; a team that will work together in order to make certain that goals are met. Therefore, I feel that open lines of communication between the parents, students, and teacher is key to promoting an educational environment that is conducive to learning. With that said, you may contact me by phone at (818) 243-9239 ext. 416. Then too, I am available for conferences before school, Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 7:15 a.m. to 7:45 a.m. and after school Monday and Thursday until 3:30 p.m. I am looking forward to working with you and your child. Remember, together we can make a difference!
Sincerely,
Miss Ashley Walden
